John M. Upton

John Upton, like all attorneys at Patterson Hanna & Associates, has strong ties to the local community. Raised in Fullerton, John attended Wilshire Junior High and Servite High School. Mr. Upton went on to college at the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated with honors with a degree in Business Economics (Accounting Emphasis).

John studied law at the University of San Diego, where he was a merit scholarship recipient, and at the Institute on International and Comparative Law, Magdalen College, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.

After graduating from USD in 1992 and gaining membership to the California State Bar later that same year, Mr. Upton returned to Fullerton, where he launched his legal career as an associate with the firm.

Mr. Upton is part of the firm's General Litigation and Personal Injury department. He has represented clients through all phases of litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He is also involved in the firm's Business and Transactional Law department, where he serves as general counsel for several of the firm's clients. In this capacity, he provides advice on legal issues encountered in everyday business as well as complex transactional or operational matters.

John is admitted to practice law in the State Courts of California. He is a member of the California State Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles.
